Privacy Policy – FTP One

Ultimo aggiornamento: 12 ottobre 2026

Introduzione

1. Dati gestiti dall’App

1.1 Dati inseriti dall’utente

L’App gestisce i seguenti dati, inseriti volontariamente dall’utente:

  • Server FTP/FTPS: nome host o indirizzo IP, porta, nome utente e password
  • Account cloud:
  • WebDAV (Nextcloud, ownCloud, NAS): indirizzo, nome utente e password

2.2 Nessun server dello sviluppatore

I dati vanno solo dove li mandi tu:

4.3 Google Drive: Uso limitato

Testo ufficiale in inglese: “FTP One’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.”

4.4 Acquisti (Apple)

5.2 Rettifica

Puoi modificare in qualsiasi momento server, account cloud, destinazioni e impostazioni.

5.3 Cancellazione

Privacy Policy – FTP One

Last Updated: October 12, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how FTP One (“the App”, “we”, “our”) handles and protects user information. FTP One is an application for sending photos and files to FTP/FTPS and SFTP servers and to cloud accounts (Dropbox, Google Drive, WebDAV, Amazon S3 and compatible services, iCloud Drive). It runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

In short: the developer has no servers that receive your data and uses no analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party SDKs that collect data. Your data stays on your device and goes only to the servers and cloud accounts you choose, and to Apple for purchases.

1. Data Handled by the App

1.1 User-Provided Data

The App handles the following data, voluntarily provided by the user:

  • FTP/FTPS servers: hostname or IP address, port, username and password
  • Cloud accounts:
  • Dropbox and Google Drive: the access tokens the service issues after you sign in on its own page (the App never sees your Dropbox or Google password)
  • WebDAV (Nextcloud, ownCloud, NAS): address, username and password
  • SFTP (SSH server): address, port, username and password, or a private key that you paste in
  • Amazon S3 and compatible services (Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2 and others): the access details you enter, such as access keys
  • iCloud Drive: the App uses the iCloud account already signed in on the device
  • Destination profiles and preferences: saved destinations, last choice, language, transfer options
  • Calendar (optional): only if you turn on “Event from Calendar”, the App reads on the device the title, time and location of today’s events to suggest folder and file names. It does not change the Calendar and does not send events to anyone
  • Files and photos: those you choose to send or download, from Photos, from Files, through “Share > FTP One”, or imported (on iPhone and iPad) from a camera or SD card reader connected via USB. The App reads them only to send them where you decide.

1.2 Data Created by the App on the Device

  • Transfer queue and its status
  • Transfer history: file names, destinations and the result of each transfer. It stays on the device only
  • Fingerprints of FTPS certificates you have chosen to trust, and fingerprints of SFTP server keys, remembered on the first connection to notice if a server changes
  • Speed tests: the result of the last test for each server (speed, time and network type). The test sends a 4 MB test file to the server’s start folder and deletes it right after
  • Free plan counters: number of files transferred per day, week and month, and the date the App was first used
  • Diagnostic logs (without passwords or tokens; they may contain server, user and file names) and aggregated Apple MetricKit metrics
  • Purchase status, provided by Apple through StoreKit

This data stays on the device and is not sent to anyone, except the logs and metrics you choose to send us with “Send feedback to support” (see section 4.5).

1.3 Device Permissions

The App asks for permissions only when a feature you use needs them, and everything happens on the device:

  • Photos: to pick the photos to send and, if you ask, to save downloaded photos to Photos
  • Camera: to take a photo to send
  • Local network: to connect to servers on your home or office network (for example a NAS); and, only if you turn on “Wi‑Fi camera”, to receive the photos your camera sends to the App over the same Wi‑Fi network or Hotspot (on iPhone and iPad) or over the Mac’s network. Received photos stay on the device for 7 days (then the App removes them) and are sent only to the destination you chose
  • Notifications: for upload-finished alerts and reminders, created on the device
  • Face ID / Touch ID: for the App lock, if you turn it on
  • Calendar: only for “Event from Calendar”, if you turn it on (see 1.1)

1.4 Data NOT Collected

FTP One does NOT collect any of the following data:

  • Location data
  • Contacts or address book
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Usage data or analytics
  • Biometric data (Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS/macOS: the App only receives the result, success or failure)
  • Web browsing data
  • Call or message history
  • Payment data (purchases are handled entirely by Apple)

2. Data Storage and Security

2.1 Local Storage

App data is stored on the user’s device:

  • Server passwords and cloud account credentials (tokens, passwords, keys) are stored in the iOS/macOS Keychain, not in the App’s preferences. Two rare cases are exceptions: two saved servers with the same address and the same user but different passwords, and an unreadable server list that the App sets aside for safety. In these cases a password may also remain in the App’s preferences, always and only on the device
  • Server and destination settings and preferences are saved locally using standard iOS/macOS mechanisms
  • Free plan counters are stored in the App’s preferences; the date the App was first used is also stored in the Keychain
  • Transferred files stay where you chose them on the device and are sent only to the destinations you select
  • Server sync with iCloud (optional, off until you turn it on): if you turn it on in Settings › General, the list of servers (address, port, user, folder and options, without passwords) is saved in your iCloud (Apple’s key‑value storage, tied to your Apple ID) so it is the same on your other devices; passwords go through iCloud Keychain, end‑to‑end encrypted by Apple. The developer neither sees nor receives this data. Turning sync off removes the list from iCloud (the servers stay on your devices); synced passwords stay in iCloud Keychain until you remove them in the Passwords app

2.2 No Developer Servers

The developer has no servers that receive user data and does not receive your files, your credentials or your usage data. The App connects only to:

  • the FTP/FTPS and SFTP servers you set up
  • Apple iCloud, only if you turn on server sync (see 2.1)
  • the cloud accounts you set up (Dropbox, Google Drive, your WebDAV server, your S3 provider, iCloud Drive)
  • Apple, for App Store purchases (StoreKit)
  • the ftpone.eu website, only if you open an invitation link or a page of the site: the server address and name in an invitation come after the “#” sign of the link and never reach the site
  • the demo server test.rebex.net (run by Rebex, read-only), only if you add it with “Try the demo server” on the Welcome page and open it

Sign-in to Dropbox and Google happens on the service’s own page; the App receives a token and stores it in the Keychain.

As with any internet connection, the servers and services you connect to can see your device’s IP address and process the data they receive under their own rules.

2.3 Encryption

  • Credentials are protected by iOS/macOS Keychain encryption
  • With FTPS the connection is encrypted with TLS and the server certificate is verified when connecting. For self-signed certificates (for example on a NAS) the App shows the certificate fingerprint once and asks whether you trust it, then remembers your choice
  • With SFTP the connection is encrypted with SSH; the server key is remembered on the first connection and, if it changes, the App does not connect
  • With FTP without TLS, username, password and files travel unencrypted over the network: we therefore recommend FTPS whenever the server supports it
  • Local data is protected by device encryption

3. Use of Data

Data is used exclusively to:

  1. Connect to the servers and cloud accounts you have set up
  2. Transfer the files (upload and download) you choose, including to several destinations at once
  3. Remember preferences, destination profiles and certificates you have accepted
  4. Apply the free plan limits directly on the device
  5. Verify purchases with Apple
  6. Help you with problems, only if you send us feedback

FTP One does not use data for:

  • Advertising or marketing
  • Behavioral analysis
  • User profiling
  • Sale or sharing with third parties

4. Data Sharing

The developer does not share data with third parties and, as explained above, does not receive it. Data goes only where you send it:

4.1 Servers and Cloud Accounts You Choose

When you send or download files, data travels directly between your device and the server or cloud service you selected. These services (for example your FTP or SFTP server, Dropbox, Google, your S3 provider, your NAS, Apple for iCloud Drive) process data under their own privacy policies.

4.2 Signing In with Dropbox and Google

Sign-in happens on the Dropbox or Google page. The App receives an access token, stores it in the Keychain and uses it only for the operations you request. You can revoke access at any time from your Dropbox or Google account settings (the section for connected apps or apps with access to your account).

4.3 Google Drive: Limited Use

The App uses data received from Google Drive only to list, upload and download the files you choose. This data is not sent to the developer, is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not transferred to third parties and is not used to train artificial intelligence models.

FTP One’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4.4 Purchases (Apple)

FTP One Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment details; the App receives only the purchase status from Apple. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

4.5 Feedback and Diagnostics

Diagnostic logs (without passwords or tokens) and aggregated Apple MetricKit metrics stay on the device. The logs may contain server, user and file names, but not passwords or tokens. They are sent only if you tap “Send feedback to support”: the App opens a pre-filled email to support@ftpone.eu, with the logs and metrics attached, which you can edit (including removing the attachments) before sending it from your mail app. If you do not send it, nothing leaves the device.

There are no advertising partners, third-party analytics, or other external services receiving data from the App.

5. User Rights (GDPR)

In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users have the right to:

5.1 Access

The data handled by the App is visible in the App (servers, cloud accounts, destinations, settings, transfers). The fingerprints of the certificates you approved have no screen of their own: they are deleted when you delete the server. For emails you have sent us, you can ask for a copy at support@ftpone.eu.

5.2 Rectification

You can edit servers, cloud accounts, destinations and settings at any time.

5.3 Erasure

  • Single server or account: delete it in the App; its password or tokens are also removed from the Keychain, together with the certificates approved for that server (password and certificates stay if another saved server uses the same address). With iCloud sync on, the server is also removed from your other devices
  • Dropbox or Google access: you can also revoke it from your account settings with the service
  • All App data: uninstalling the App deletes the data stored in the App on iPhone and iPad. On the Mac, moving the App to the Trash does not delete its data: it stays in the folders “~/Library/Containers/eu.ftpone.ios” and “~/Library/Group Containers/group.ftpone.ios”, which you can delete manually. However, iOS/macOS does not automatically clear the Keychain: passwords of servers not deleted beforehand and the date the App was first used may remain on the device and in its encrypted backups after uninstalling
  • Feedback emails: you can ask us to delete them by writing to support@ftpone.eu

5.4 Data Portability

Data is stored locally: you keep full control of it, and it is included in the device backups you make.

5.5 Restriction and Objection

You can disconnect from any server or account at any time, and you decide whether to send feedback.

6. Data Retention

  • Data on the device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the App (with the Keychain exception described in section 5.3)
  • The date the App was first used is also stored in the Keychain and survives a reinstall; it stays on the device and in its encrypted backups
  • Feedback emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to reply and follow up on the report; you can ask for them to be deleted at any time
  • There are no copies on developer servers. App data may be included in device backups (for example iCloud Backup) if you have enabled them

7. Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • iOS/macOS Keychain: passwords and cloud credentials are encrypted and not stored in the App’s preferences (except for the two rare cases in section 2.1). They are available to the App after the device’s first unlock following a restart, including while the screen is locked
  • FTPS server certificate verification when connecting, with an explicit prompt for self-signed certificates
  • Logs without passwords or tokens: passwords and tokens are not written to the diagnostic logs (server, user and file names are)
  • App lock with Face ID or Touch ID, if you turn it on
  • No third-party SDKs that collect data and no transmission to developer servers. The only external library (Citadel, open source, for SFTP) works only on the device and connects only to the SFTP servers you set up

8. Children

FTP One is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with the update date. We recommend checking this page periodically.

In case of substantial changes, we will provide more prominent notice (for example in the App Store release notes).

  • Files and photos: those you choose to send or download, from Photos, from Files, through “Share > FTP One”, or imported (on iPhone and iPad) from a camera or SD card reader connected via USB. The App reads them only to send them where you decide.

1.2 Data Created by the App on the Device

  • Purchase status, provided by Apple through StoreKit

This data stays on the device and is not sent to anyone, except the logs and metrics you choose to send us with “Send feedback to support” (see section 4.5).

1.3 Device Permissions

The App asks for permissions only when a feature you use needs them, and everything happens on the device:

  • Photos: to pick the photos to send and, if you ask, to save downloaded photos to Photos
  • Camera: to take a photo to send

1.4 Data NOT Collected

FTP One does NOT collect any of the following data:

  • Location data
  • Contacts or address book

  • Biometric data (Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS/macOS: the App only receives the result, success or failure)
  • Web browsing data
